Ensure your passport is valid and meets Vietnam’s immigration requirements. Visa conditions vary by nationality, length of stay and purpose of travel.
If required, apply only through Vietnam’s official e-visa portal. Check that all information on your visa matches your passport exactly and reconfirm entry requirements with your airline before departure.

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended, including medical treatment, accidents, lost belongings, trip disruption and emergency evacuation.
Bring sufficient prescription medication in its original packaging, together with your prescription or doctor’s letter.
Drink sealed or properly filtered water, use sunscreen and insect repellent, and inform the resort in advance of any medical, dietary or accessibility requirements.
The official currency is the Vietnamese đồng (VND/₫).
Credit cards and Apple Pay are widely accepted at hotels, resorts and major establishments, but cash is useful for markets, taxis and small vendors.
Exchange money only at banks or authorised counters, check banknotes carefully and confirm possible overseas transaction fees with your bank.
Free Wi-Fi is available at the airport, Hoiana and many public venues. Local SIM cards and eSIMs are widely available.
Ensure your phone is unlocked before travelling and download Grab, Xanh SM/ Green SM, maps and translation applications in advance.
Keep offline copies of your passport, visa, insurance and booking confirmations.
Visitors must comply with Vietnamese laws. Penalties for illegal drugs are extremely severe. Do not carry packages or medication for another person.
